OpmerkingenI’m an astrophotographer with a few years experience and I take regular trips to the desert to observe and photograph. I’ve seen a fireballs but this one might have been the most exciting. It seemed to last a very long time for a meteor and even slowed down. I don’t know if it created a sound as it was very windy and as soon as it escaped my view I ran inside to tell my family.

OpmerkingenI was pointing my telescope at Vega and I saw a fireball come from the south, a few degrees to the left and a few degrees below Vega. It continued past Vega and then it blew up again and I lost sight of it as it went north. Couldn’t see much detail of the smoke trail because it was dark.
Eind lichtflits
WaarnemingYes
OpmerkingenTwo fireballs or explosions, the first one just before it passed Vega and the second just after. Red-orange explosions but not too bright; it probably wouldn’t have drawn the attention of someone not looking that way. It seemed to slow down and/or break up at the second explosion.
